Current trends in health and Fitness – 2010
Earlier this year I participated in the National strength and Conditioning Association (nsca) Personal Trainers Conference. During the conference I learned some useful information and received confirmation that I was on the right track when it comes to my personal approach to training and fitness in general. Since these types of conferences are a good reflection of current trends and future directions for health and fitness industry, at least among true> Fitness professionals, I thought you might be interested to learn about the most debated topics of the conference.
On a side note, there is always personal trainers and other health and fitness staff who have no interest in increasing their knowledge or information to their customers better / customers. These people are not representative of the entire health and fitness industry, although a significantpart of it. The real professionals understand that health and fitness information is constantly evolving, and we must keep learning if we want our customers the most accurate information and the best quality and service.
Personal trainers and other health and fitness staff who are not interested in improving their knowledge or remain on the level of information is usually more concerned about money than theyabout their customers. Of course it is best to avoid these people if possible, because it generally offer a lower quality of products or services not helpen u will effectively meet your goals and generally lead to disappointment and frustration.
Okay, with that little reorientation of the way, let's go back to the conference. There were many topics on the conference, including nutritional issues, improvement of athletes, special educationpopulations (children, elderly, people with injuries, etc.) and much more. But even with this broad range of topics, some topics that seemed to keep coming up again and again in various presentations.
Probably the most discussed topics was related to movement, especially the importance of good exercise and training to correct poor movement patterns. If you've followed my writings over the years, it's no surprise that a good move, a lotimportant to me and it's nice to see that traffic problems fitness takes a more prominent role in healthcare and industry.
There are many reasons for the motion technique is more attention, but one of the drivers are actually rising health care costs. As health care is slowly changing from merely treating problems that prevent them from active research has shown that people who wrong move technique is more likely to developmuscle and joint problems later in life results in a higher number of joint replacements, falls, and other major problems. To make matters worse, these problems are not just for the elderly.
With the removal of physical education in many schools, children who grow less active. This has implications not only for rising obesity in children, but it has implications for traffic. We believe that non-working children are much more likely to havepoor technique when they grow up traffic, resulting in premature wear on their bodies. Younger people tend to have physical problems that can not found in any other 10-20 years or more, and many of these problems are a direct result of poor circulation techniek charged excessive wear and tear on their muscles and joints.
The good news is that these false movements can be retrained and then poor movement patterns will be replaced by real, people can dramatically improvetheir long-term health. Unfortunately, teaching biomechanically correct movement is more complicated than just random exercises to perform and exercise the traditional machines will generally not do the work. It takes concentration and awareness of what muscles are contracting and how each part of the body in motion, together with knowledge about how each movement is technically could be done.
When all these elements are brought together in a well-designed trainingprograms for all ages and levels, people can improve their overall health and physical functioning. It was clear at the conference, because exercise and training sessions with many different kinds of people, including children, elderly, athletes, pregnant women and people with injuries. It is clear that education is the promotion of earlier works only individual muscles and becoming more of training each muscle to function with the rest ofbody.
Spontaneously was not the only issue, and many of the usual themes were represented. On the supply side, the intake of protein and dietary supplements are still popular because people are always interested in things that they can learn to improve their achievements. Another question that remains is remarkable eating disorders, along with the importance of developing good eating habits. People with poor eating habits (eating too much before going to bed, eat enoughcalories, etc.) almost always have a hard time making progress, because even a good exercise routine can be undone by poor eating habits.
There were many sessions with practical information on various types of training and demonstration of new trainers. Much of the focus on training for specific features such as speed, agility, strength and balance improve. To improve these factors are important for improving the physical performanceathletes, but they also have applications to perform everyday tasks to enhance and improve the quality of life in all segments of the population.
Of course nobody would be complete without the main conference sessions on education because everyone concerned about their abs. Fortunately, these meetings were not about general topics such as training to get six pack abs, but the training to the functioning of your body to improve. The core muscles are crucial to protect yourspine, maintaining good posture, preventing back pain, and much more, but many people still think only of how they look and how they work.
The above items were not the only ones at the conference, but they were the most common. If you look at everything, it is clear overarching theme, and overall direction for health and fitness industry is learning the use of specific exercises and movements to improve physical functioning in peopleof all ages and skill levels. As time progresses, hopefully learn not only about uiterlijk to improve, but also to physical function improve, the industry will become a standard for personal trainers and andere health and fitness. Unfortunately, at present we are still far from that that happens.
